Property transactions can be very complicated and using a professional immobilier can safeguard you from many of the horror stories that we hear every year. Don’t become a victim, stick to the professionals.
Consultants. You will occasionally find people calling themselves property consultants. In most cases this is to get around French laws which require all French Immobilier to have a registration number known in the trade as a ‘Carte Professionelle’ without this an immobilier or anybody else attempting to sell a house on behalf of a third party for monetary gain is acting illegally. A consultant will inevitably introduce you to an immobilier to complete the sale, so in essence you will have gained nothing except another bill. Buyer beware!
