The purpose of this website is to introduce you to the area that I cover in my work as a French estate agent, to the agency that I work for and if you are seeking property for sale in the Ariege, Aude or in fact anywhere in our corner of southern France, to provide you with tools and tips to help make your search as easy, stress-free and effective as possible.

Over the years I realised that I was repeating the same information over and over again, and so decided that it would be a good idea to consolidate everything in one place and as society is moving towards a web 2.0 world – here it is!

Here you will find details of the geography of our area in the Aude and Ariege, (the 11 and 09) the climate (mostly lovely!) and the towns and their offerings. You will find advice on buying a property in France and also those things that nobody tells you about – help navigating the decision process of what and where, and nuggets of essential knowledge – all before you’ve even seen a house.

Buying a property in Ariege, Aude or any other part of France can seem complicated as all the systems are different to the UK and there is a lot of misinformation written about the buying process and the services that are available from professional Immobiliers (like English estate agents but with many more responsibilities), mostly by those with a vested interest. Here I set out how it really works (in the Century 21 agency in Mriepoix at least) and what you can expect from us.

I always list my properties of the month on this site – they reflect homes with something special, perhaps particularly good value, an outstanding view or something else that sets them apart. There is also a link to the main agency site – Century 21 Immo-sud and our current property stock. Also scattered throughout the site are pictures of properties for sale in the Ariege and Aude with a link to help you learn more about them. It’s almost impossible to hunt for properties using pictures alone, so if after working through the decision process you find you are looking for something specific, drop me a line and if we don’t currently have it, if it exists and is currently for sale, I’ll find it for you.

I know what a leap of faith it is, trusting another, with what is such an important purchase for you and your family. For this reason I have included in the side-bar on the left of each page, testimonials sent to me by my clients. I think it’s only fair that anybody you are working with should be able to give tangible evidence of, and not just talk about, the level of service that they give.
